- How many vans or catering units should I book?
-
If you are catering for a festival, you will have an idea of the number of people you can expect indicated by tickets sold in advance plus sales on the day unless of course you have sold out in advance!).
Based on years of experience, we can let you know the types and numbers of catering unit that would be most profitable for you.

- Do I need to worry about obtaining a liquor licence?
-
Caterfest have a number of staff who currently hold the B11AB qualification. As personal licence holders, they can apply on your behalf to have a licence for your event. Please ask us for more details of how we can assist in the process and the timescales involved.
-
- How far in advance should I contact you about catering for an outdoor event ?
-
The earlier the better, but we can certainly help out at short notice when required. As a rough guide, the larger the event, the more advance planning is needed to sort out stock and staffing levels. We always say that the earlier you contact us the better.
-
- What's the largest event you have catered for?
-
The Glastonbury Festival, with over 170,000 people over 3 days is probably the biggest event, but the Download Festival in Hyde Park, the Creamfields gathering and some of the major sporting occasions are all significant events that we have been involved in.
-
- What happens if there is bad weather and the expected crowds don't turn up?
-
You can't predict the British weather. At some events - most famously Glastonbury - there is often far more rain than you would think possible over a few days. This can cause problems for the public, in terms of mud etc. - but they still need to eat. Most of the festivals that we work with have sold out in advance anyway, so the idea of people not turning up has never been an issue. If the music is good, the crowds will come!
-
- Can you offer a variety of food and drinks?
-
Caterfest can cater for any requirements that you might have. Full details are contained on this site, but we have 18 different types of unit offering everything from milkshakes to sushi. The key is to think about the types of people who will be attending your events and then offer what you think they will want to buy. We are happy to offer advice on which units will help you sell the items that your guests want.
-
- If I am interested in setting up a meeting, what should I do next?
-
We are always happy to talk through your requirements over the phone in the first instance, but then in person, or at the venue when appropriate. Caterfest have been operating in this area for many years now so we like to think that we can offer you some sound practical advice that will be useful. We want to be long term partners in your business, so we have a vested interest in helping you become a success.
